I am currently working on a motivation + leading teams workshop for managers. Does anyone have any games, ideas etc that they have used for similar workshop?

Eating and drinking!
Hi
I do this in my motivation courses
Include the usual theory etc. but include a section on what eating and drinking the wrong things can do to your motivation (makes you feel sluggish, lethargic).
Most people don’t really think of this in relation to motivation at work and it really opens some eyes
Hope this helps

Motivating a remote team
I use a wonderful exercise in leadership workshops to give participants the opportunity to experience motivating a group of people who are situated remotely from themselves. There are some very specific instructions and they are too long to post here. If you would like to contact me on 0131 343 3055 I can talk you through the activity or email me and I can send you the material.
Self analysis questionnaire
Hi Sarah,
I have used a questionnaire which covers the following topics:
– financial motives
– Recognition and Praise
– Responsibility
– Relationships with Manager
– Promotion
– Achievement in job
– Job content
– Cooperation with others
Even if i don’t ask delegates to complete the questionnaire it creates an excellent start of point to discuss how to lead and motivate teams by finding out or theorising what their motivators are and then how to incorporate tasks, ideas and participation by them as a means to motivate them further. This discussion usually then leads to much deeper thoughts about developing people etc etc. I have no idea where this questionnaire came from but if you would like it e-mail me at alison@darringtontraining.co.uk and i will send it onto you.
