6 technical experts in the business about to deliver courses on different areas on statistics... they need to understnad how giving a presentatio is different from training. One of the key areas I want to look at in giving clear instrcutions to get activities started off correctly.
Has anyone got any sort of tips or rules that they use?

Setting up activities
Hi Jo
I use what, where, when etc
Why they are doing the activity
What specifically do they have to do and what is the required output
How should they do it
Who should do what
When should it be completed by
Where should they do it
Depending on what you are doing, some of these will be irrelevant, but it works as a good checklist for me.
If necessary you can also produce an instruction sheet for each activity so groups can refer back to it during their activity
I used to work for a driving school and I have some classics around what instructors said and what the learner driver actually did. Email me if you’d like those as well. They highlight how careful you have to be when giving instructions
