Can anyone help with sourcing a good flexible Appraisal system?
We're about to pilot on paper a new scheme, and in parallel I would like to start searcing for a good platform to eventually take the scheme online.
Our Intranet uses a Notes Domino infrastructure, but even IBM can't tell me if anyone's built a system using this technology.
It's likely we'll be moving to Chris21 from Frontier Software, but I'd like to explore other options too.
In terms of functionality I'm looking for the standard Appraisal system functions, competency framework hosting, 360 degree, the ability for managers to report, HR to support etc...
The ability to customise to reflect our scheme, and not have our scheme dictated by the technology, is key.
Any advice is appreciated. Responses from those in companies who have implemented and not vendors is appreciated thank you.

We are in the process of searching for a package with very similar capabilities. We need the system to support our Performance Management process, a competence framework, all historic and current training activity and evaluation of training for MI reports.
Providers that I have looked at are Snowdrop and Brite HR but that was some time ago and I am sure that there will be many more (and maybe better) systems out there.
Sort of helpful for you. no doubt other members of training zone will be more so…

Competency frameworks
Appraisal processes tend to be unrelated to competency and more about performance. This is partly due to systems being unable to undertake technical, functional and competency assessments against an organisational framework. This needs to be done regularly and the information integrated with appraisal, training, manning services. We use ESI from http://www.InfoBasis.com.
