As part of my employeers Best Value Review it has been decided to explore the Investors in People route. Has anybody had experience of this and could provide
a copy of their training plan..

Training plan for what type of company
David
You ask for a sample training plan – the format & type may be dependant upon the type of company you work for.
If you could share a little about the company – size, sector etc I will ‘dig something out’ for you

Training Plan for IiP
David
Knowing your organisation type the examples I have will not be the best of fits however….
My guess is that you already have a plan – the key elements for an IiP plan are the following:
The plan identifies:
1) individuals and their needs
2) resources available to support the training, budget, time, other ‘hard’ resources
3) a way of evaluating the outcome – how you will measure success.
By department a table might look like:
Role/ Individual—Need—Solution—resources required—target date—measures of success
Then a version of this for each individual (PDP) and a summary version at organisational level for strategic planning.
Hope this helps.
I was an IiP advisor for several years specialising in the private sector. Happy to talk off line if you want more specific information.

Critical assessment of IiP
I’ve just joined today. Looks interesting, especially the questions about KM . However, I came looking for one thing—a critical assessment of the IiP standard. Not, a critical assessment of one organization’s implementation, but a piece by piece deconstruction, maybe against some other approach to performance improvement. Companies going for it don’t seem to question it, they just try to tick the boxes without understanding.
