Does anyone know where to get some tools that can aid in Teambuilding. I already use Belbin, SDI and Myers Briggs and want other tools to use to look at behaviours and self awareness. I have heard of DISC and Insight but do not know where to look for training in them.

Try looking at the Emotional Intelligence Activity Book (AMAZON)
This is full of exercises looking at behaviours, working relationships, self awareness etc…
Profiling tools
Hi Julie,
The Drexler/Sibbet model is effective for Team Performance but if your interested individual profiling and behavioural awareness you might be interested in the Political Intelligence diagnostic tool that gives awareness to an individuals political animal type (developed from Simon Baddeley & Kim James model)how this impacts on how they are perceived by others, how to adapt their style and so improve relationships and ability to work with and influence others. Would be happy to talk to you more about the Diagnostic tool, materials available etc.

Thomas International provides DISC
I have extensively used Thomas International profiling tools for both Individual and Team development with good result. The DISC concept is simple and easily understood, thus providing a common language across all exposed to it. It is quick to use and provides a positive basis to build upon. I am totally committed to Thomas and use these tools as a key part of my business portfolio to enhance individual and team capability.

LAB Profile

Since you are already using the Myers-Briggs type inventory I think you might find the material in “Words that Change Minds”, by Shelle Rose Charvet (ISBN 0-7872-3479-6) a useful addition to your toolkit. It is extremely strong on “how”, with plenty of supporting explanations of the “what”.
Be well

self assessment tools
At http://www.hrdpress.com you can find some great self assessment tools that can be completed in paper format and online. I have used these for years and have been very satisfied. The cost is rather nominal as well.
New tools or reinforce messages through new methods
I support the response given by Graham Mattocks. Though maybe rather than looking for new instruments to help in profiling, why not look at other methods and tools which supports those instruments for example Continue the language and thinking of the SDI by using the Dynamic triangle or INTERACT to further develop greater personal understanding and application would have greater interest than exposure to yet another instrument.
Thinking Styles explores different ways of thinking…
On the self-awareness axis we find Thinking Styles very valuable (OK, we would because we are licensed to administer it!). It explores how we each have our own predominant ways of thinking about the world (NLP Metaprogrammes for the tecchies) on a series of different axes. Thinking Styles measures peoples’ cognitive and linguistic preferences and levels of flexibility at work for twenty-six ‘types’ of thinking (dimensions). It does not measure thinking ability, nor is it a measure of ‘intelligence’.
In terms of teambuilding, if we start from the premise that an efective team has a good balance of approaches, then we can use the intrument to explore where teams might be strong/weak and so identify development opportunities/routes.
