As Rus says – not sure who the training is aimed at or what it’s purpose is.
However, as a workplace coach I have done quite a bit of coaching with people facing redundancy. On the whole this has been very successful in helping people to get over the initial panic, explore their options, think about what they’d really like to do next and action plan to move forward.
So – I would strongly advocate for coaching training for managers and access to a skilled workplace coach for staff facing or under threat of redundancy.

Structured questionnaire to ascertain the individuals career interests
Series of half-day courses to develop job-hunting and presentational skills
One-to-one counselling sessions for individual support
Additional support for individuals suffering from stress or interview nerves
Framework for networking and ongoing support
With the right skills and some hard work it is possible to make a big difference to the chances of re-employment, and to see redundancy as an opportunity as well as a problem.
But beware, there are some consultancies out there who charge a lot but do very little!
