Hello,

I'm thinking of naming my training company - impel training. I will offer 'back to work' trainng. What do you think of the name impel training?

Kind regards

  1. company name

    Hi

    Pronunciation: im-ˈpel
    Function: transitive verb
    Inflected Form(s): im·pelled; im·pel·ling

Etymology: Middle English impellen, from Latin impellere, from in- + pellere to drive

    Date: 15th century

1 : to urge or drive forward or on by or as if by the exertion of strong moral pressure

Strong moral pressure?  Not too sure if I like the sound of that!  🙂

  2. Not all too sure

I agree with Ian. It is not very catchy either. You want to choose something that grabs your attention and I am not sure Impel does that for the right reasons.

  3. Customer focus?

    Hi Mark

Who will be buying the training eg who are your key market?  I think this makes a big difference when you are naming a company.  If your training is aimed at a corporate buyer then I think the company name is less of an issue, but if it’s aimed at individuals attending ‘back to work’ training then it needs to be accessible and meaningful to them – or so abstract that it doesn’t matter!

If you’re in the welfare to work ‘back to work’ arena then I’m sure you know what you’re up against – names are very important!

What is the thinking behind Impel?  Usually a lot of thought and pain goes into choosing a name, so I don’t think you arrived at this overnight.  Give us the thought process and I’d be happy to comment further.

    Kind regards.

    Stephanie
