Hi
I manage a social enterprise. We run a great little, low-cost, 1-day communications workshop, which makes a very real impact on service quality. I would like to make this course more widely available, but I get more and more requests that it be accredited.
I'm happy to do this but I'm running up against two headaches.
1. Cost - some of the charges out there are over a thousand pounds!
2. A long turn-around for providing certificates. NCFE can only give me certificates every 6 mths, which for a one-day workshop is a long while to expect candidates to wait.
I'm sure somebody somewhere has come up against this problem and thought for the sake of flexibility and innovation, we need a light-touch, flexible accreditation process for small SMEs that don't necessarily have the deep pockets of large academic institutions or big business.
Any thoughts on an awarding body that could help me do? Or perhaps I should go to Ofqual and become an awarding body?!!
MANY MANY THANKS!
