Icebreakers
Hi there
I must say I don’t like the assumption that everyone who attends a training course needs warming up and energising before they learn anything?
Maybe a different approach and treat everyone with respect like adults would work better?
Just a thought..

Icebreaker
Icebreakers are key to environment creation, so its a great idea to introduce an early one. Have you come up with anything yet?

Is that so?
"Icebreakers are key to environment creation"
I’m running a course this week and everyone seems extremely motivated and ready to learn. Can’t remember doing an icebreaker so wonder what’s going on?
Do the participants know each other?
Is this an internal course? If it is I must share Steve’s reservations.
Brrrrrrrrrrr
Why oh why oh why do people do it? If the course is designed well and delivered well and relevant to what the delegates need why would they ever need warming up or energising?
People need energising when they are tired and bored and you will need more than an energiser to sort that one out!
Icebreaker – Why??
I tend to agree with Steve.
I have not done an icebreaker on any event for over 5 years. If the material is good enough it should be enough to interest and motivate the delegates. If they are coming on your event that shoudl be motivation in itself, if they are not motivated to come along why are they there? Is this the right event for them?

Finance for non Financials We just ran the above mentioned course last week and the trainer just got everyone to introduce and tell us a little bit about themselves and that worked perfectly!!!!
