Getting the most from Camtasia

default-16x9

Can anyone provide me with some examples of how you have used Camtasia to produce eLearning materials and how you went about getting training to use the software?

  1. Using and learning Camtasia Studio

    Hi,

Let’s start with the second part of your question. Getting Training – you have a couple of options. One is TechSmith (makers of Camtasia Studio) provide a number of free online tutorials on their website. http://www.techsmith.com/learn

These videos will give you a good sense of many of the basics, and some of the advanced options. If you’re still looking for more than the videos – I’d recommend you check out the Recommended Training provider list. In the UK specifically there is BlueOrange Consulting Ltd based out of Glasgow Scottland. You can access the Recommended Trainer list here: http://www.techsmith.com/learn/camtasia/training.asp  I’ve gone through one of their classes and they are very good.

Now for how people have used Camtasia Studio. There are lots of ways, so I’ll point out a few though and you cna always ask if you want more details:

    1) At TechSmith, we create tutorials on how to use the software we create. Of course this could be for any software that you use in your business. If you have someone one with good working knowledge, they can create tutorials to help others get up to speed to learn about the software. These could be longer more formal videos. They can also be quick one offs. I have found that it’s especially great for frequently asked questions.

    2) You can use Camtasia Studio  to record presentions. You can then give these to staff for review after the presentation, for anyone that couldn’t make the meeting. You could even try flipping the classroom (Read more in an article here on the TrainingZone: https://www.trainingzone.co.uk/topic/learning-technologies/creating-flipped-training-content/161376).

    3) Use screen recordings to suppliment other e-learning  content. For instance, record a process or a slide presentation, and use it to help suppliment text or the presentation of other information.

Those are just a few ways. If you want more detail or have questions, feel free to contact me.

    Cheers!
