Hello,
I would like some advice on how to become a Training Officer.
I am a recent graduate in Masters in Occupational Psychology and am currently working in a college as an Employability Skills Advisor. The responsibilities of this role include maximising students employability skills by organising work experience placements, running an employment shop and managing employer engagement programs.
As a part of work experience preparation I deliver training and development sessions on employability skills for the students. I have always been very interested in the field of Training and Development and I therefore voluntarily provide workshops on business skills for a UK wide charity.
I would like to move my career forward into a Training Officer role. I would appreciate any advice and suggestions as to what skills and experience I would need to develop in order to move into this area.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi there
This may or may not be of interest to you but we are launching a new postgrad qualification in the delivery of soft skills and experiential learning – http://www.unimenta.com/Default.aspx?pagename=Post-graduate-qualification
The programme does include client liaision and consultancy approach which I am sure can help.
We also offer support generally for training providers and practitioners – membership is free – http://www.unimenta.com/Default.aspx?pagename=Membership-Registration
the support includes advising on professional development and guidance so I’d be happy to help you with this.
