Words to avoid when training, making a presentation or a bid?

default-16x9

Came across a blog yesterday which lists the 14 words to avoid. They are:

1.Stuff
2.You guys
3.Bucks
4.Second to none
5.At the end of the day
6.Without further ado
7.Pretty unique
8.Very, very unique
9.Truth be told
10.Moving on
11.Going forward
12.To be honest
13.Okay
14.Whole bunch

In September, my colleague Mark Holmes asked a question in LINKED IN about what makes for a good presentation.Over 1000 ideas came in and with Mark's agreement,I produced a simple word document 300 tips and above capturing the best ideas. Drop me a line at trainingqed@aol.com if you want a copy. It's nothing fancy -just a plain document.Plain words hopefully lol!

  1. A great list…

I really enjoyed your list, Mark, and have forwarded it to a couple of Sales Directors whom, I know, will enjoy it. This subject is dear to my heart as you’ll see in a recent blog at: http://www.mhconsult.com/blogs/level-playing-fields-and-hymn-sheets

Can I add a phrase which was delivered as part of a sales pitch which my wife was recently attending. When she asked the presenter whether he used the sales management software he was proposing for her department, he replied: "Oh yes, we eat our own dogfood."

    Best wishes
