Hi, we are a hair and beauty supplier looking to implement our first structured management development programme. We want the delegates and line manages to be in some way "tied" into the programme, although there are no explicit monetary consequences for non-completion other than the internal costs of design, set up delivery etc.
So my question is what kind of non-monetary training contracts have you used in the past, or what advice could you offer to help us build one?
Thanks, Rachael

non-monetary training contracts
I work in an in house training team. We use non-monetary training contracts all the time.
The first thing you need to do is define the goal of the training programme
Then define what training events need to be attended, what personal commitment is needed from the delegate, and what support needs to be in place for them, (stakeholders, mentors, line managers allowing time out of daily work etc.)
Record all this information on the contract and then get sign off from anyone involved, this then creates some level of commitment from the delegate and anyone who is required to support them in their goals.
If any of commitments made from individuals are broken this could prevent the aims of the programme from being met, if these aims have a direct business benefit associated to them it then incentivises the individuals to stick to any commitments made.
Hope this gives you some ideas!
