A Project Planning Approach

default-16x9

Happy Friday all!

I've been involved in various projects in the past but nothing too formal.

Does anyone have any project planning processes, tips or tools that I could adopt/use to give my projects a more corporate shine?

Many thanks

James

    Hi James
Send me your e mail address on Monday and I will send you a project document you can adapt.

  2. SCRUM

James – There are some very interesting developments taking place in the field of Project Management right now mostly originating from software development companies. A refined approach to Project Management called SCRUM is starting to grab hold and spread out across lots of different businesses.

To begin to get a flavour of how SCRUM or Agile Project Management works and operates, sometimes from a familiar perspective and sometimes from completely new ones, take a look at these two videos.

Some of these techniques have started to creep into my own methods and also my training in this subject.

  3. OnQ

James, here is a methodology developed by the Queensland Government. You will find information on all the project phases, you will also find a bunch of document templates and registers.

    http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/Business-industry/OnQ-Project-Management-Framework.aspx

You will find the templates in their original formats so they are easily adapted to your own purposes.

Its based on the PMBok and is a pretty formal approach, but its up to you how much to use.

    Good Luck.
