Can anyone recommend activities and/or videos for a 1/2 day course on Job Handover process. I will have 4 groups of 4-5 people and will be addressing shift handovers, vacation handovers and onboarding of replacements.

Hi Steve,
How about some sort of planing worksheet for participants to plan the conversation they will have with the person they are handing over to. This will give you an opportunity for role-play if your delegates are up for it, by allowing them to plan and then execute the conversation. In my experience, most people dislike role-play so no use in doing this if your delegates have the same feelings, but planning for the conversation can be really useful. (Call it "real-play" if you think you'll get away with that!)
Make sure you include everything you would for a delegation conversation (e.g. why this person, describe the task, what does success look like, any tools or resources, confirm understanding, agree follow-up) plus any extra considerations specific to your environment.
Give your delegates the opportunity to talk through their plans in pairs or small groups and give feedback to each other about their approach.
This will probably bring together all the topics you will have discussed in your half-day course, although you could reasonably spend a whole day on this sort of topic if you had the time.

….ask them to write a list of all the things (both urgent and important and round-to-its and trivial) that would not happen in the next week if they walked under a bus in the next half hour………
That will give them a good list to start with of things they need to handover.
