I am planning a residential orientation course for a group of students who are taking on a role of responsiblity, within the university in which I work. The programme will be a mix of information giving, team working and skills development over 3 days in a residential conference centre.
I've not run a residential before and would be interested in any tips, ideas etc for making it a success. e.g. – any particular considerations when designing the programme? Evenings – informal or planned events? Ideas for interactive content in place of powerpoint presentations! How much downtime should be built in?
