I've been looking for a suitable training model for our future managers to use. A prominently used model is EDIT however I thought that what would be the alternative if EDIT cannot be used? Is there any other models people use that they feel works really well?

Are you talking about training them to do on-the-job training or run interactive workshops?
STEER works well for the first (Spot the opportunity, Tailor to individual, Explain and Demonstrate, Encourage during practice, and Review)
You can't beat the accelerated learning structure of MASTER for workshop delivery in my opinion – its what I use in my Train the Trainer courses.
