Advice – Senior Management Development

default-16x9

Hi everyone.

I am looking to explore avenues for a senior manager (VP to SVP) career development programme / package / framework and wondered if anyone had any thoughts / ideas / experiences that they could share? We are currently in the very early stages (I would say conceptualisation) of a pan-european project looking at developing senior talent (mostly through experience / awareness rather than coursework).

We have a skills inventory, talent differentiators (skills and behaviours expectations), corporate values and we envisage everything will link in some way to these, we also have a willing and engaged project team and an enthused project sponsor, however, as none of us have tackled anything quite like this before I would appreciate any advice from anyone who has done anything similar.  As always we will have aggressive timeframes to get something in place in the business!  Thanks, Catriona McFarlane.

  1. I’d get some proposals

    Hi Catriona

This is a very big question! In your shoes, I would talk to at least three very different providers and get proposals. During the process you will get ideas and thoughts that will help you formulate what is right for you.

Cranfield's Centre for Customised Executive Development is ranked among the world's top 10 business schools, you could also go for one that has broad experience in your sector, possible a third that seems a good match to your culture or values.

    Good luck!

  2. Alchemy Learning Pathways

    Hi Catriona

If I were you I'd look seriously at setting up Alchemy Learning Pathways for your small (I presume) numbers of people.

They are quick to set up and highly personalised to both the individual and the organisation.

Paul Matthews is a very helpful guy who can support you in this.

Get in touch if you want any further details
