Converting Classroom Material to Virtual

default-16x9

Hi,

We are looking to convert some of our existing classroom training into vILT (Virtual Instructor Lead Training).  The material is technical not soft skills.

Does anyone have any 'procedures' for this?

I've attended a few webinars that give great ideas as to what to include for interaction, etc.  However they don't give you a mechanism for converting existing classroom to virtual!

  1. Budget?

If you have a budget for this I would recommend going outside your organisation. Kube have some amazing ideas that will transform your material.

  2. A few steps to get you started…

    Hi there,

It sounds like you are on the right track already with converting your classroom sessions to live online sessions- interaction is the key and with technical training you can share screens and even hands-on labs with some of the web-conferencing tools.

What is the duration of the current classroom version? I would recommend the first step to be breaking the content into 1 hour- 1.5 hour live online sessions so that the sessions can be flexible around work priorities and also to keep peoples attention online is more difficult.

You might also decide to create more of a blended approach with the live tutor led sessions then follow this up with self-paced exercises to apply the learning, forums, how to guides before the next live online session.

I have helped lots of organisations transfer their classroom courses to online so I'd be happy to speak to you further to help. My email address is l.talbot@trainingfoundation.com if you would like to get in touch.

My organisation offers certification in Facilitating Online Learning which would give you all the necessary skills to convert your sessions and transfer your skills to delivering live online sessions. The first session can be daunting but it's exciting delivering sessions to participants all around the world. I love it!
