How to bring users back to elearning content?

default-16x9

Today I am at Skillsoft Perspectives an event for SkillSoft customers. We just had a panel discussion with a range of L&D managers. One of the questions from the floor was about how to bring users back to elearning content. Here are the answers . . .

  1. Give the learner content and then tell me what to do with it - application is key.
  2. Learning content needs to be well written and interactive and well structured.
  3. Business alignment of the content - so users see how it will benefit them and the business.
  4. Immediately apply the learning so it has direct benefit in job - just in time or see how it can be applied on the job later on.
  5. Need to get users to make a conscious decision to go to the learning content.
  6. Educate users where to find the content.
  7. Market the elearning content and service.
  8. Educate users in how to use the elearning content.
  9. Involve the manager - and ensure the users understand their learner journey.
  10. If the content is easy to find and it worked then it will help bring users back.
  11. Make the experience enjoyable - it helps.
  12. Competition and leaderboards can drive engagement with the content.
