Expert tips to overcome costly server storage issues

default-16x9

Emailogic were recently asked to help an organisation increase network performance and free up server space.

This had come after a string of complaints from unhappy staff that everything was running too slowly to be effective.

This is a common problem, particularly in larger organisations which can leave IT directors frustrated, knowing that the problem is partly a technical issue - but partly a behavioural one.

PA’s and Admin staff are often asked to manage multiple calendars for their managers and poor email management, heavy reliance on group emails and the routine use of “reply to all’s” and copying of large emails can culminate in an overladen network, running slowly and ineffectively – and an increasingly frustrated workforce.

Staff sometimes call for a new system with faster PCs - without realising the impact that their own ineffective use of email is having. Many IT Directors know the core issuea are not network capability - but poor email use.

Upgrading the entire network can be hugely expensive and is often unnecessary. Some companies devise a programme of email etiquette and email management training to help improve the use of email.

Outlook clinics and webinar training sessions would help staff get in control of the new features to help them manage calendars as well as using Outlook features to automatically handle large amounts of their incoming mail.

Printed email guidelines can also act as a daily desktop reminder for all staff when handling their email.
