Train your Sales Team this Afternoon

default-16x9

Part of the ongoing success of your team, not just in sales either, is that they receive training and development. Without either you'll notice that motivation and effectiveness starts to drop. Sometimes all you need is a quick fire training session to ramp up the teams efforts.

Time constraints, cash flow limitations and many other things can put a hindrance on how/when/why you arrange training for your team. The pointers below are mostly focused for sales professionals however you can use it as a guide or template to create something similar for other departments.

#1 Role Play - (this is also great for customer service teams) Add in a fast thinking team member to be the customer and chances are you'll have a great scenario play out right in front of you. Not only can you advise you can also pick up on some things for the team too - what works and what doesn't.

This style of training should actually be an essential part of any sales role as it keeps everyone's wits about them.

#2 Stress Free - Sales is a numbers game so stress will always be high, even for the hot shots. It'll make sense then to minimise the amount of stress within the work area, right? Simple things like team interaction during breaks and out of work hours is an ideal way for people to discuss common interests without the stress of a working environment.

#3 Communications - Encourage it! Sales professionals are naturally competitive so giving secrets and tips away is not held high in regard. Your team is just that - a team - so there needs to be communication and connection between everyone including the management team.

The above methods are incredibly easy to do, take little to no time to implement and are highly effective in creating a solid foundation for your team and their motivations. Why haven't you already done it?
