You may or may not be aware that TrainingZone is undergoing a redesign in the coming weeks - we're very excited about our new look, and we can't wait to hear your thoughts once we relaunch the site.
However, before we can move all of the articles, user accounts and assorted bits & bobs to the new site platform, we have to make the first step of putting the new site layout in place - this means that there will be a content freeze on the site on the afternoon of Friday 30th October; you'll be unable to post comments, blogs or Any Answers posts during this time. Functionality should return to normal the following morning.
What changes can we expect?
Well firstly, once we relaunch you’ll notice a change in the navigation of the site. We think the new layout is far more helpful and straightforward, and we hope you’ll think so too.
The top navigation bar on TrainingZone will be split into four key areas, which are then broken down further as follows:
Lead
- Culture
- Strategy
Develop
- Business
- CPD
- Talent
Deliver
- Coaching
- Training
Community
- Blogs
- Discuss (currently Any Answers)
- Industry Insight
We've tried to make the new site even more intuitive and easy to use, allowing you to find as much interesting and relevant content as possible.
As you can also see from the image above, in addition to the brighter layout, we'll also be recommending content to you based on what is currently popular across TrainingZone, or articles similar to what you're currently reading.
We're also getting infinite scroll on the site so that you can continue to browse content to your heart's content!
What else will be changing, and when?
We're making some big improvements to the community aspects of the site as well - from updated member profiles, to simpler registration, all the way through to a much easier blogging process.
We're also building a comprehensive help centre to address any questions you have, whether it be losing your password or wanting to advertise on TrainingZone.
Sadly we'll be temporarily taking away the private messaging functionality, but it will be back in the not-too-distant future, we promise.
The snazzy new TrainingZone will launch in early November, with lots of exciting new features and content.
We’ll be communicating changes in more detail nearer the time, so keep an eye out for our other features, and look our for the results of our recent user survey!
