A Times report gives the story that the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is holding plans for Employment Tribunals to be held in hotels to alleviate an increasing backlog of cases.

The plans are currently on hold whilst the government considers the effect of the new Human Rights Act.

The government led Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) is believed to be waiting for DTI advice on funding for the plans and has not as yet concluded investigations into the anticipated costs of the proposals.
