I have been asked to research a methodology or tool that my manager has heard of and which is used in assessing behaviour at management levels. The only clue I have been given is that the outcome indicates whether a person is an achiever, abstainer or accommodator.

I have never come across a tool with the three as you have described (but it may exist). I was wondering whether your manager was misremembering the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument. Put ‘Thomas-Kilmann’ in to any good search engine to get more info.
