After a 3 week ‘break’…

default-16x9

...I am back on the bridge, at the controls of the USS TrainingZone. It's all going well, and two days back on the job I feel like I have the measure of the balancing act I am now to perform. It's a good thing I did hand over to Martin on the Friday before our due date, as even though I thought I'd still be around for another week or so after that friday, that clearly wasn't the case.

Back into the rhythm of the TZ timetable now, and we are entering a traditionally fallow period for the events section of the site. It's not that there isn't still plenty to do day to day, but events are fewer and further between, as everyone gears up for the rush of September. We have the TrainingZone relaunch to contend with though, which is scheduled to be co-ordinated with the academic year and the events calendar kicking off again.

And a quick word on the leadership bulletin. We're moving our leadership content about a bit, and June's bulletin was the last. In its current incarnation, that is. Instead, we're going to be publishing leadership articles throughout the month and not just on the 3rd Friday.

There are also several new and exciting ideas we're looking at, many of which are currently are in the designed-but-not-yet-tested phase, but are in the plans to coincide with the site relaunch. With a platform as flexible as Drupal, the ability to do virtually anything you want with the site is a real challenge. It's one for the free thinkers.
