If anyone has any bright ideas to liven up what could be seen as a boring though essential part of the 'housekeeping' bit of training, I would welcome their ideas.
Also, if anyone has any thoughts on integrating the group rules with people's hopes and expectations I would welcome their ideas too.
Many thanks,
Dave.

hope and promise
Dave
I don’t know whether you have ever done this but it can kill all the birds with one stone….
Ask each delegate to come up with one hope or wish (about the next x amount of time you will spend together on this course) and one promise that they will keep regarding the same.
Capture, discuss, display
This (with a little judicious facilitation) can often cover the group rules bit as well as expectations.
Hope this helps

Housekeeping
I have set-up a room to look purposely un-tidy, wires hanging out, phones going off, drinks spilt on a table, finished food wrappers left on chairs/desks, chair in-font of the fire exit etc.. I have then asked the group to work round the room spotting as many faults, health & safety issues etc.. as possible, then I quickly run through the importance of adhering to housekeeping rules and H&S, bit of fun and hits home that leaving a training room in the way in which you found it is important, as well as H&S etc.. gets a few giggles and strange looks!!
