Has anyone heard of a company called Global Consultants Co who are based in Kuwait. They have asked me to do some work for them. I am keen to find out if any colleagues have had any dealings with them in the past. If so, how did you get on?

Kuwaiti Organisation
Hi Jane, I work regularly in Kuwait and although I haven’t crossed paths with this provider, their web site is better than most in the region and gives the impression that the organisation is well established. Joy
Working in Kuwait
I do lots of work for clients in the Middle East and one thing I would say is to be careful of who you work with and ensure that you get the T&C’s sorted out before you agree.

Global Consultants
Jane
They are associated to Baker Tilley, who have a big international profile in accountancy and finance. They would seem to be reputable but I have not had personal dealings with them, so I cannot attest to their size or quality.

legit??
Hi
I can only support the comments of others – one strategy I have done with new (unknown) international clients is:
1) they buy air-fair & accommodation and send in advanced
2) ask for 25-50% of the fee up front as a gesture of good will.
if they wont do these – walk away!
otherwise – good luck!
Thanks so much
for all your comments and suggestions. It is exciting to be asked to go overseas but also a bit scary. I am sure that the client cannot be surprised that I want to carry out a bit of ‘due diligence’.
I’ll let you know how I get on!
Visa Kuwait
Jane, make sure you have some Kuwait Dinar for the Visa upon entry
