AOL involved in global mobile internet deal

A joint announcement between Japanese mobile phone company NTT DoCoMo and AOL is about to be released according to Japanese press.

This partnership would bring together the world's largest provider of fixed-line internet services with the largest mobile-access internet company. DoCoMo was reported to take about 40% stake in AOL Japan becoming their largest shareholder.

This partnership will allow AOL to widen their access from personal computers onto other platforms through NTT DoCoMo's wireless technology expertise and both would promote the use of the internet connection service for mobile phones worldwide. NTT currently have more than 12 million subscribers in Japan.
