App Review – Rehearsal Video Role-Play

default-16x9

Rehearsal Front Page

Name of App: Rehearsal VRP (VRP stands for Video Role Play)

Website: http://www.videoroleplay.com/

Type of App: It is a hosted web application which can be accessed through a monthly subscription on the internet. You use it entirely by accessing the web hence you don't need to install anything on a computer.

Purchase Model: It cost $19.99 a month for a single subscribed user, but you can register for a two-week free trial just to test out how it works.

What is it? Rehearsal is a training platform that allows you to create scenarios that your team can reply to by recording webcam responses from the convenience of their home or office.

What can it be used for? The main training tool this app focuses on is role play and it is particularly useful for sales training, but I think it can be used for other types of training. It can be used to create role play training for people in dispersed locations because once scenarios are created people can respond to them at their own time in whatever location they are.

So how does it work? A manager or trainer logs into the app and records a video scenario. Potential trainees are notified and they will then have the opportunity to record their responses to the scenario using a webcam. The manager or trainer can then give the trainee detailed feedback to their scenarios. There is also a leaderboard where the best responses to scenarios can be posted so people can learn from them.

Key features: Here is a brief overview of the apps key features.

This is a straight forward learning and development app focused on one function - using roleplay as a training tool. Though aimed at sales training I believe it can be used for other types of training. If you want to take the app for a ride sign up for a free account here: http://www.videoroleplay.com/sign-up.
