Auction yourself to the highest bidder…..

default-16x9

Another online job agency has entered the fray in the last few months, offering the usual opportunities to recruit and search for jobs online, free of charge for jobseekers and employers. Interviewme.co.uk has one extra to offer however - it auctions candidates off to the highest bidder!

There's no worry about a new form of slave trading going on here though - candidates visit the site and enter their details, then companies visit the site and enter the wages they are prepared to pay for that candidate. The site isn't terribly good at explaining the procedures involved, but presumably candidate and employer would settle on a figure, either before or after an interview or further selection procedure.

The site includes a salary survey, which, although still in its early stages, throws up some interesting information - there are some quite big discrepancies between what companies are offering and what candidates are expecting to be paid for some jobs. According to the site, Analyst Programmers are expecting to be paid 40,000 GBP per annum, but companies are only offering 22,500 GBP. Customer Service Advisers are looking for 22,500 GBP, but companies are only offering 12,500 GBP. Either there are some greedy candidates or some miserly employers out there - or it could well be both!
