Hi All
I'm currently reviewing our First-Line Leadership Course and wanted to get some L&D views on Authentic Leadership. Keen to refresh the current course content with some new approaches to Leadership and bring them up to date.
I've read in TJ that Authentic Leadership is the 'hot topic' of Management training- But before I start researching, I thought I'd engage the forum first. Any ideas, comments or suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance- Adam

here is your challenge…….from the Harvard Business Review of
"Discovering your authentic leadership requires a commitment to developing yourself. Like musicians and athletes, you must devote yourself to a lifetime of realizing your potential. Most people Kroger CEO David Dillon has seen become good leaders were self-taught. Dillon said, “The advice I give to individuals in our company is not to expect the company to hand you a development plan. You need to take responsibility for developing yourself.”

Old wine
Take care that Authentic Leadership isn’t just old wine in new bottles. It’s a change in culture for many organisations to think of leadershipin these terms and adding authentic to the front of an existing programme (with a few edits) doesn’t make the learning opportunities more authentic.
