The British Educational Communications and Technology Agency BECTA are one of the organisations who will be delivering seminars at the BETT show which is to take place at the Olympia in London on 10, 11, 12 and 13 January 2001. This annual show is the main exhibition for ICT solutions for teachers and covers all areas of education across the curriculum, including lifelong learning.
Lord Puttnam will be delivering the TES Keynote presentation on Thursday, 11 January, which is entitled "Teachers make a difference. What about ICT?"
The Becta Keynote presentation will be presented on Friday by Stephen Heppell, Director of Ultralab, who will be discussing "The Diverse and Creative Curriculum: ICT's role in lighting the learning fuse".
Other planned seminars include a look at how to get information from the World Wide Web to support all learners, and how ICT can be used to improve school management.
Becta staff will be on hand at the agency stand, X40, throughout the show, offering expert advice and information on all the latest projects and developments in ICT in education and the National Grid for Learning.
Becta is the Government's lead agency for ICT in education and supports the UK Government and national organisations in the use and development of ICT in education to raise standards, widen access, improve skills and encourage effective management. Becta works in partnership to develop the National Grid for Learning strategy.
