IT distance-learning college SkillsTrain has been named as the UK’s top achieving college in the International Association of Book-keepers (IAB) Level 2 Certificate in Computerised Book-keeping.
Malcolm Trotter, Chief Executive, IAB Qualifications for Business said, “This is a well deserved accolade. Every year the quality and standards improve, so for SkillsTrain to receive this award it is a great achievement”.
The award was made after the company’s home learners’ book-keeping exam results cumulatively achieved the top slot for SkillsTrain, despite competition from students in full-time study and from conventional colleges.
SkillsTrain principal Myra Smallman said: “Home study has become increasingly popular as it allows people to fit their studies around their existing work and family commitments.
“It is a really great honour for our students to have received this recognition as it demonstrates how seriously they take their studies and how committed they are to our home study courses.”
SkillsTrain has trained over 6 million home and work based students over the past 60 years and uses a blend of learning techniques to prepare students for a variety of disciplines, from technical IT courses to Web-design, office administration and book-keeping.
