The book is well written and flows nicely with lots of personal anecdotes, business case studies and examples which make it easy reading. The author is clearly a highly experienced HR professional who understands and considers business concepts and how to treat people in equal measure.
I particularly enjoyed the section on rules of engagement, which introduces some new thoughts and reinforces some of the not so new. The end of each chapter has a “if you don’t do anything else, you must do this”, which is useful in terms of prioritisation.
Thought provoking, with some quick fixes and useful online and textbook tools. I would recommend this to HR professionals and business leaders in a larger organisation.
