Calling OD/MD Consultants

default-16x9

I'd like to tap into any existing networks of very high calibre independent organisation and management development consultants. Anybody got any clues? I don't want to link into the usual IPD network, but rather would like to get in contact with any informal networks that may exist already. Alternatively would like to set up a network. Must be people with very strong academic backgrounds in the subjects (Msc/PhD's etc) and with several years experience working in the field.

I'd like to share ideas, designs, work and generally anything of interest. Large outfits need not get in contact. I'm starting to get loads of work that I have had to turn down because I was unable to subcontract. Not for reasons of not knowing anybody, but knowing good people who felt the way I do about learning. If any body's interested have a look at my website to see what I mean.

Hope to hear from you all.

  3. Human in Training calling
    Joe,

Congratulations on a great site and a spirited posting on trainingzone!

The quotation that you use on the ‘Management & Learning’ page is very strong. However, the more things change, the more they stay the same. I can claim six years management development experience and being a year away from an M Sc in Management Consulting, but the past is not my strongest point.

May I quote a French banker attending a cross-cultural training session on southern African countries:”Ah! So, in Africa, life is not a part of business, business is a part of life!”

I suggest you contact Dr Kim McManus of Inter-ed Ltd. Her email is kim.mcmanus@inter-ed.co.uk.

Kim is an active member of a number of OD associations, where she regularly presents and publishes papers. She is an American living in Scotland, a former visiting Professor at George Washington University and Senior Lecturer at Strathclyde University, with considerable consultancy experience and expertise.

I will contact her and alert her to your inquiry.

  5. OD/MD networks?
    Joe,

AMED is a UK based network along the lines you refer to. ECLO is an international network dedicated to the pursuit of the learning organisation concept. http://www.eclo.org

I don’t kow enough about AMED but work for ECLO and will happily provide more details.

  6. Management Development
If you are the Joe I met at Guardian them you may recall the specialist management development training I provide. I was recommended to talk to you via Jane Trower and she has kindly invited me to do some more work with her through her own consultancy.

Would be pleased to discus with you what you are seeking and how we can help.

Main areas are applied NLP to behavioural situations.

  7. Networks & learning
    Hi Joe

I am a partner in a small company providing consultancy and management development training, along with research into training efficacy through links with Bangor University’s ‘Centre of Learning and Development’. I am currently completing post graduate research into the acquisition, retention and transfer of learning. I am very interested in the application of dynamical systems thinking to learning and management development. As well as forging continuing links with academic institutes to increase knowledge and ideas, we are part of a group of small providers who share knowledge, expertise and generally bounce ideas off each other. If you are interested in joining any of our meetings, or you would like to know more about Dynamics, let me know. New members with new ideas and different veiwpoints are always welcome.
