Hello all
I am a 39 y/o with around 15 years experience in the catering and hospitality industry. I have been a GM for big brands (All Bar One) as well as independants. I have run my own deli/ catering business for the past four years and now want to commence a career in training.
As a GM and an owner/ manager the training, communicating, mentoring aspects of the role have always been where my heart lies. I also fell it is a strenghth of mine.
As my family and I look to return to the South (Berkhamstead) from Yorkshire I am exploring my options and any advice/ contacts would be much appreciated.
I think getting some sort of qualification under my belt would be a good start - a friend in the industry recently reccomended I gain the NVQ assessors award. This is great but I will need to be earning at the same time so I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for training providers that would fund me to learn and then take me on as a trainer/ assessor.
Maybe the assessor award is not the best/ only option for me?
A little vague I know, but I simply have to get this right so any advice would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks, Toby

Hospitality
Hi Toby
I think your best route is to find a Hospitality / Catring Training Provider who will support you through the Assessor qualification.
Your existing skills would certainly be useful in Managing Hospitality qualifications so I’m sure there are many Training Providers out there who would snap you up!
Hopefully some of them are reading this!
Goos luck
Steve

Might be worth chatting to this company to give you an idea. Have you looked at the CIPD qualifications?
