Career development opportunities now available via Action Learning web site – www.action-learning.org

The Action Learning Institute (ALI), a new career-focused Web portal, is now live at http://www.action-learning.org. The site is run by the International Management Centres Association (IMCA), and was developed in partnership with ingenta.

The site offers a pro-active environment where individuals can learn about the principals and techniques of action learning, and use them to develop their own career.

Over the coming months, ALI will also provide news, resources and the latest trends in the field of action learning. The discussion area provides users with the opportunity to ask questions and debate action learning with a group of like-minded professionals.

A new diagnostic tool, the Career Review Document (CaRD) has made its debut at ALI. Site visitors complete an online form, providing information about their work history and aspirations. A career advisor will then review the users career to date, and recommend next steps.

The CaRD is one of the premium services within the Action Learning Institute. For $25, users can access all premium services, including access to Cafe ALI, an informal meeting place, and five action learning journals: -
 Virtual University Journal
 Continuing Professional Development
 International Journal of Action Learning
 Action Learning Outcomes
 Management Literature Review

IMCA launched its first action learning programmes in 1984. The Association is dedicated to career development through action learning and has run programmes for more than 30,000 managers in over forty countries in the past two decades. The Association currently has offices or representatives in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, Holland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, South Africa, UAE, UK and USA.

ingenta is one of the UK's top 20 Web services. As well as providing Web users with a broad based article search and delivery service through www.ingenta.com, ingenta also develops subject-focused e-communities, built in conjunction with societies, publishers and university presses.
