Cisco hasunveiled their plans for the CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) programme - as of October, the certification process will be a one-day course.
The CCIE programme sets a professional standard within the industry and is a very highly regarded certification. The bold move by Cisco is aiming to reduce the number of redundancies within the industry by reworking some of the examinations and moving the basic tasks around.
Cisco does not think this will damage the credibility of the certification, like cynics are predicting. It will become a move easily attained certification because of a more convenient structure.
