Coach’s Diary: Father Christmas’ Special Message

default-16x9

Father Christmas sends a special message to all good trainers everywhere....

Father Christmas looked sad. Although it was his busiest time of year, and lots of boys and girls had written their Christmas lists, he noticed that the grown-ups seemed somehow, very sad and weary.

Some of them were wearing frowns on their faces from the stress of doing too much shopping, while others were putting a brave face on all the festivities 'for the sake of the children' – but all of them seemed to have lost sight of the real joy of Christmas.

Religious considerations apart, Father Christmas wanted to give all the grown-ups a gift that they could treasure – something which they could appreciate all the forthcoming year.

For a while, he scratched his head and played with his beard but inspiration wouldn’t come. And then, as he was preparing all the children’s presents, he started to smile as he began thinking about how much he was looking forward to seeing their shiny, happy faces on Christmas Day.

In an instant, he knew what he had to do for the grown-ups. He was going to remind them of the four secrets to a happy life.

With a big smile on his face and a "Ho, Ho, Ho" at the thought of the grown-ups discovering his special gift, he began writing…

'In your life, create balance between work and leisure…
With your family and friends, make time for pleasure…
Share the love in your heart for joy beyond measure…
Remember to give thanks for all you treasure!'

Knowing that grown-ups no longer admitted to believing in him, Father Christmas now had to find a secret way of communicating his festive message. He knew the easiest way would be in the darkest hour of the night as they slept …

So, if by chance you find yourself able unable to sleep late on Christmas Eve, listen very carefully and you may just be able to hear Father Christmas’ gently whispered message as he distributes his gifts down your chimney!
