I am involved in the creation of an on line community for first aid trainers and training companies. The aim is to bring trainers and companies together in one community and to standarise the quality of training within the first aid industry. This community will have varying levels of membership and I have been tasked with writing a code of conduct for both trainers and companies. Has anyone got any advice on where to start? what could/should go in in these? Has anyone got any material already that i could utilise and modify to suit?

Code of ethics and practice
Patrick
I have a code of ethics for trainers, training managers and facilitators. It may not meet all your needs but I am happy to send you a copy to help get things started.
Drop me an email and I will forward it to you.

make it two sided, please
Patrick
One plea….please make your code of conduct two sided; so often these things are one way streets….they standardise all the behaviours of the members but leave the “community institution” to behave pretty much as it sees fit at the time.
“Bringing together as one community” creates a new entity within the community, there needs to be a code of ethics for the “institution” as well.
Sorry that this isn’t a ready made solution but I think it is a very important point.
