Coming soon – the definitive guide to training jargon!

The TrainingZONE Glossary is a brand new addition being launched in response to members requests for quick, easy access to explanations of common and not-so-common training terms.

Confused by competency mapping? Dazzled by didactic methods? Ignorant about emotional intelligence? Look no further than the TrainingZONE Glossary for help. Each term in the Glossary will have its own page, with a short, concise description of the term, followed by a listing of related resources and features, and details of some related training providers (e-mail us to find out about getting listed here). We're launching an initial series of topics, listed below, and plan to add to these on a regular basis. You'll be able to access all the terms from a central source, so, whenever you're in need of a bit of clarity, you'll be able to come straight to the Glossary for more detail.

Initial Glossary entries:

  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Six Thinking Hats
  • Pedagogy/Didactic training
  • Gestalt methods
  • Neuro-Linguistic Programming
  • Synchonous and Asynchronous learning
  • Mind Maps
  • Action learning
  • Experiential learning
  • Learning styles
  • We'd also like to hear from you if there's any topic or term you're confused about and think needs explaining, or indeed, if you think you can provide a concise definition of a term that's often used in your work. Send an e-mail to [email protected].
