David Smith is a development consultant specialising in the design of bespoke activities for training and development. His particular areas of expertise are effective communication and problem-solving.
Having begun his career as an advertising campaign planner, where these complementary skills were natural partners, he quickly found his time increasingly devoted to training and development.
He has spent the last 12 years designing and delivering training for a number of blue chip companies and not-for-profit organisations in the UK and Europe.
In 1999, he founded Cognism Training and Assessment - a consultancy dedicated to producing practical, easy-to-administer development exercises which promote experiential learning. He published The Learning Bank of 50 activities in January 2000 and continues to accept commissioned design work, while lecturing in Learning Development.
He will be pleased to offer advice and ncouragement to anyone engaged in the creation of training resources and welcomes any queries relating to activity design.
