Developing Management Effectiveness – What are your challenges?



I’d like to ask L&D, Internal Training and HR professionals if you would help me with some research. I’m interested in understanding your challenges in helping the managers in your organisation to develop their people management effectiveness (the way they manage and motivate staff). I’m specifically interested in:


a)      In which area(s) do managers, generally, need to improve their people management effectiveness. As an example, for a number of my clients it is around the managers reluctance or inability to deal with under-performance. What are yours?

b)      What are the consequences, to you personally, of the managers  lack of effectiveness in the area(s) you have identified?

c)       What are the challenges you face in helping managers develop their effectiveness in these areas?  

d)      If you could have a ‘magic wand’ solution to c) what would it be?
