Development of CBT training package

default-16x9

We are a charity and are looking to develop a computer based version of an existing training course. We need someone who understands not only IT but also training in order to successfully translate a classroom-based interactive course into an interesting and engaging computer based training package.
Does anyone have experience of a similar thing and if so can you give me an idea of what you did and any advice about the process? If possible, I would also appreciate if you could recommend anyone who could do this sort of work with approximate timescales and prices.
Thanks very much.

  1. Range of Options
A while ago, I helped a major voluntary association to select an e-learning vendor to do just what you ask.

Do feel free to contact me offline for a more detailed discussion.

But to add some initial thoughts here, given the costs involved, you may wish to consider options along a continuum from acquiring your own development tool and engaging the services of an e-learning designer to create your course, through to engaging an e-learning company to develop the full solution themselves.

You are right though to insist on using training specialists conversant with technology. Although it can be cheaper to go the other way, the results are usually disappointing.

    Hello Linda,

Maybe I can help. What you describe is exactly what I do, based on 20+ years experience as a ‘traditional’ trainer, now working to develop engaging and effective computer-based packages.

Please contact me for more information.

  5. Development of CBT, your prayers are answered!
    Linda,

I have been working for the last 3 months on developing a Disability Awareness and combined Customer service CBT package.

It has taken me a considerable amount of time , effort and hard work but is well worth it.

We bought a server package from Germany and so far the cost of creating this has run into the thousands. Unfortunately to out source or do it yourself is costly as so much time and precision is involved in it.
If you would like to discuss my experiences or have any questions then please feel free to contact me as I would be more than happy to help.
I have had the fortune to work with lots of major charities and I am sure I could be of help to you.

    Kathryn
