Diary date: The International Foundation for Action Learning conference

The International Foundation for Action Learning conference and AGM will be taking place in London on Thursday 27th October.

The theme for the conference is "Action Learning and the Virtual World" and will feature Yury Boshyk, co-author of Action Learning: History and Evolution, speaking on "Reg Revans and the Evolution of Action Learning: From the Titanic to Twitter.

Delegates will explore the impact of new technologies on action learning and how to use them effectively as well as looking at the impact these technologies will on core action learning principles.

The event will also include:

  • Pre- and post-conference virtual Action Learning (VAL) sets.
  • Feedback and learning from participation in VAL sets.
  • Development of ‘How To’ guides on setting up VAL sets.
  • Showing of a video interview with Reg Revans.
  • A pre-conference dinner on 26th October in central London.

Workshops will cover:

  • The practicalities of setting up and running a virtual action learning set.
  • Skills and capabilities of virtual facilitation – Ghislaine Caulat, Ashridge Consulting.
  • The ViTAL project for small businesses, using real time and offline formats.
  • How the Open University uses virtual action learning.
  • An interactive session on Loughborough University’s use of DALEK technology.
