The Campaign for Learning has recently been carrying out sample research into the ways in which local authorities do (and do not) promote learning through their work.
Not surprisingly, the results do not cover the local authorities with glory!.
In an opinion piece for the current issue of People Management magazine, Bill Lucas - the chief executive of the Campaign for Learning - discusses the results and looks at some of the implications for promoting lifelong learning.
Unfortunately, the report itself is not yet available on the Campaign for Learning website.
