Everybody's talking retention these days. Along with all the discussion of exciting new concepts, have you done some analysis? Are you losing your new hires in the first three months or even before they join you? These losses have become increasingly likely and they are entirely preventable.
Because of the talent shortage, more candidates now choose from among multiple offers or become part of a bidding war. Other companies are still marketing them even though they have accepted your offer.
Then, if they become the least bit dissatisfied after they have joined you, if their boss or work assignments don't meet their expectations, they've got other live options. The grass is always greener at an offer they've turned down or the job they left. And other companies have no qualms about taking them back.
