Double Celebration at World of Learning Awards

It was a double celebration for Training Foundation director of e-learning Clive Shepherd at this year's World of Learning Awards.

Shepherd was honoured for making an Outstanding Contribution to the Training Industry and also won the Generic Solution of the Year award for his e-learning programme "Death by Powerpoint".

The BBC also had two reasons to celebrate, the organisation won Blended Solution of the Year for its leadership programme and BBC Worldwide was awarded Training Provider of the Year for the second year running.

The standard of entries this year was considered so high that the judging panel made the decision to award runners-up and special commendations in a number of categories to recognise the quality of those submissions.

The winners were:
* Bespoke Solution of the Year - Logicom Training Solutions – Real World Environments CBT for British Gas Service Engineers

* Blended Solution of the Year - BBC Leadership Programme
Runner Up: National College for School Leadership

* Generic Solution of the Year - Above & Beyond – Ten ways to avoid death by PowerPoint
Special Commendation: Skill Boosters & Employer’s Forum on Disability – Disability Confident

* Online Solution of the Year- Cimex Media / E-Skills UK – Computer Clubs for Girls (CC4G)
Runner Up: Cylix & Ufi – Keyboard Tutor

* Instructor-Led Solution of the Year - The Negotiation Academy Europe Pty – Advanced Negotiation Training

* Training Venue of the Year - The Robinson Centre
Runner Up: The Møller Centre
Special Commendation: High Trenhouse

* Outstanding Contribution to the Training Industry - Clive Shepherd

* Learning Resource Centre Manager of the Year - Jo Richler – Wigan & Leigh College

* New Learner Award - Ron Knowles

* Training Provider of the Year - BBC Worldwide.
