Dummy Bank Cards

default-16x9

I'm involved in training staff and managers on a till facility. As a consequence I need to demonstrate card payment - chip and pin and swiped transactions.

As a result I need some cards!!! Anyone have any idea where to get them from? I've tried a couple of bank contacts and they've told me the banks don't issues them any more. The till supplier has none either - any ideas?

  1. No joy…
Regretfully they only do orders of a 1000 minimum. I’m struggling here – are there any other retail process trainers here who demonstrate card transactions?

You probably need to look overseas for low numbers at a reasonable cost. Taiwan, Hong Kong, China is a centre for this type of work (you might try finding a supplier via hktdc.com). I can’t offer a personal recommendation but you might also try http://www.maxcard.bg in Bulgaria
You have now exhausted my limited knowledge on this!

  3. Real Card on Separate Account
    Hi Andrew!

Just a thought, but will you be be training people using a live system?

If so, then maybe your employer/client can arrange with their bank to set up a separate bank account for a “Mr A Trainer”, on which they can issue a real debit card for you to use. Any funds you deduct could be credited back as part of the expenses for the training.

Having worked for one of the major banks years ago, I think I remember we had live cards that we could use for cash machine training purposes.

    Anyway, just a thought.

  4. Still too many!
The .bg site does orders of minimum 500.

I’m using a training system that is identical to the live system other than all transactions are posted into a suspense account and cleared at the end of day.

I like the idea of creating a live card but think it may cause issues with the bank as it’ll have to contain ‘live’ personal information – they won’t open it with dummy info.

I’ll have to speak to a few retailers to see what they use and see where they are sourced from.

  5. Hurrah!
    At last…www.iccsolutions.com

Live accounts, set of 3 cards is £75+VAT and p&p of £5 or so.
